Just want to share my AWS Hackdays Philippines 2019 experience last Wednesday, March 20, 2019. Unfortunately, we didn’t win, but it was fun, we gained new friends and had a realy great experience.

Congratulations! team SymIOT. Panels were Raphael Francis Quisumbing AWS Hero, Richard Neil Ilagan AWS Solutions Architect and Stephen Thomas Misa Country Head, President and Chairman at Amazon Web Services in the Philippines.
I have been joining hackathons before and comparing AWS Hackdays Philippines 2019 to AWS Hackdays Philippines 2018 and other hackathons in PH (pls. check my other site https://www.hackathon.ph/) was quite different. There was a preliminary presentation wherein you need to submit executive summary and video demos online. Then on the second round the top 5 teams were required to have their presentation/slides be presented within 5 minutes and a video demo for only 3 minutes. We were thrilled and excited during the said presentation.

Another reason for writing this blog is to share our App presented to the said hackathon. We used Alexa-skills and I guess its related to Alexachamp.com (lol). Our App is called Coach Big Mike your “Fitness partner through Health Technology”, your personal fitness coach. We chose the category Health Tech chatbot. My team members as follows (from left to right):

- Amah Buenaventura-Galon, CPA, MBA – My beautiful wife who help me a lot during the Q and A. “Dangal o bugbug pag di mo ko sinama!”
- Jays Esporna – I met him at Clashofcodes 2018. Too serious pre 🙂
- Ace Mark Llentada – I met him at Devcon events, a funny/jolly guy :). “Barbeque destroyer” :))
