Posted on |

Off-topic, this is not about Alexa/Alexa Skills. Just sharing my UHack Real Estate And Liveable Cities Hackathon 2019 Experience. We won 1st place in the said hackathon. Before I share my presentation and demo, I like to congratulate the event organizers UBX Philippines, Redwizard Events Technology headed by Elaine Cedillo, to the sponsors ULI Philippines, D.M. Wenceslao and Associate Inc., and to all mentors and panels. Special thanks to Mark Vernon. It was held at Islas Pinas, Pasay City last September 28 and 29.

Our team name is Gigamike and I team up with following

About the idea. There are 3 categories or problems to solve, Property, Cities, and Communities. We selected Property!. We attended the Pre-hack (September 21 @ Acceler8 by UnionSPACE), as per Raymond Rufino of Urban Land Institute, they are looking for a procurement system to solve several problems or issues they experienced. With that, we come up with an app named E-procureChain. Below our slides/presentation.

Demo 1: Our first demo is creating a Purchase Order or PO. So rather filling up a paper form, the user fills up online which is available anytime anywhere. In this sample demo, the user order 2 items and need to enter when he/she needed the item. As an option, we also provided a chatbot feature for creating PO which is very convenient for the requestor who is on the field and using small screen like mobile phones. After creating PO it will automatically notify all connected suppliers/vendor and they can start the quotation.

Demo 2: In this demo the finance dept is logging in to issue payment for the approved supplier. We are using blockchain (MultiChain) feature which is MultiSig which is similar to an escrow (A fund is set to a wallet and before it sends to supplier there are several parties that need to approve it). And since we are using blockchain we are recording transactions or payment transparent and can’t be tampered or immutable.

Demo 3: We added a supplier/vendor portal feature just in case the product you are looking for is not available to your existing suppliers/vendors. You can search by company name, category or place without using another window or app. You can also do your organization meeting within the app, no need to open your skype or other chat tools. Talking from the suppliers up to the top management face to face.

Congrats to the winning teams:
RealTeam – Champion (Php 80,000) Created an app called LandLord, which aims to enhance property management and solve the problem on rent collection/payment in the Philippines.

GigaMike – 1st Runner Up (Php 60, 000) – Us

Port Chow Fan – 2nd Runner Up (Php 40, 000) Created an app called Asikaso – a property management application that specifically caters to unique scenarios in Philippine Real Estate Market.

and congrats to all 46 teams who were able to present and finish the hackathon.

Good luck and see you in next hackathons.
