Just sharing my experience at AngelHack Manila hackathon 2019 last weekend at Aspace Greenbelt Makati. Fortunately, we won 1st runner up and the AWS challenge award. Our team name is Team Alexa and compose of me, Amah and Tristan Rosales.
The name of our app is Coach Big Mike. Its an online platform that brings professional fitness coach, their health products and the health conscious market together. We created a web/mobile shopping cart with native chatbot and voice assistant via Alexa. We aim to provide and create a reliable and trustworthy fitness and health resources here in the Philippines and abroad through health technology.

Demo 1: Get Body Mass Index (BMI) and recommend gym program or nutritious meals.
Demo 2: Motivation! Every month check your BMI and if you reach your goal, get incentives, discounts or credits to buy health products/gym accessories.
Demo 3: Ask your Alexa Skills Ready Smart Refrigerators/Appliances with nutrition facts to prepare healthy meals.
Demo 4: Order Health Products/Gym Accessories while preparing your meal or doing some workout. No need to run on your mobile/laptop.
It was an amazing experience and we do enjoy the 2 day event specially knowing that the pressure and the competition was very stiff.
We thank everyone for giving so much value added experience to our hackathon savy skills. Thanks to all the event organizer, to the volunteers, to all the sponsors for all the assistance you have extended to us. We appreciate for connecting all the technology we have to the community we live in. For pushing us to produce results and solution, for uniting and empowering the youngs and professionals developers to advancement. We can really say that #AngelHackthon creates a sustainable impact to the different fields of technology. Keep on building and creating a space of collaborative culture in a dynamic world of technology, business, and education.
Thank you most specially to my team, Tristan Rosales for staying up late just to finish the native chat bot feature on the spot. You have a long way to go, keep on joining, gaining and of course sharing all the knowledge you’ve got from every hackathon.
To Amah, for doing the power point presentation, for giving tips and practicing me for the pitching. You are what sustains me during troubled times of every hackathon I joined. You also double my happiness in times of celebration and joy of winning.
Kudos to all the winners of #AngelHackmnl2019 and to those who did not make it, do not be disheartend just remember this saying from Lou Holtz that winners and losers aren’t born, they are the products of how they think.
